Creativity/Experience

I like to think of my career working on the web as an extension, and constituent part, of living a creative life. Creativity is the engine of innovation but is also a necessary ingredient for a humane vision of technology and design. Creativity teaches you important lessons and extends your understanding of the world and yourself.

With this guiding principle, in my career building websites I have been a resolute web generalist. I have been a Front End developer, UX specialist, Project Manager, Team Lead, and Consultant. I've worn many hats but each role has been driven by my deep interest in user-centered design and fostering positive, creative environments to do good work.

Change happens fast and it's important to stay agile and always keep learning. Just like any creative endeavor, there is never an end point when you "know it all." But experience does teach you to avoid certain pitfalls. To focus your energies. To always be mindful of the mission. To never lose sight of the person on the other side of the screen.

I've learned that the creative path is universal, whether writing a song, composing a picture, or building a website.
